Staging of Any Present PU

Photos of different PUs

If a PU is found, it is important that it is assessed to determine the degree of observable tissue damage.

Being able to identify the different stages of a PU will:

  • provide common language in clinical and research practices
  • facilitate improved auditing and benchmarking of prevalence and incidence data
  • assist with management planning.
