You have just completed Topic 2: Risk Assessment.

The key point to remember is that it is critical that a patient’s risk status on an initial assessment is likely to change during treatment and care. Furthermore, once the RA has been completed, it is essential that the results are accurately documented and communicated to all involved parties.

Now that you have completed this topic, you should be able to:

  • discuss the determining factors for assessing a level of risk
  • explain the importance of appropriate documentation.
