Education of Patient and Carers

It is important that the patient and their carer understand:

• the impact of developing a PU
• risks for PU development
• how they can participate in the prevention program.

The VQC has published a booklet that is designed to educate patients, but it also provides useful information for carers on the prevention of PUs.
