You have just completed Topic 3: Understand the Principles of PU Treatment.

The key point to remember is that if a PU is present, the same prevention management plan needs to continue to prevent the ulcer from deteriorating and/or the development of further PUs. However, a treatment care plan also needs to be developed.

Now that you have completed this topic you should be able to:

  • discuss the strategies available for the treatment of PUs.
