Welcome to Topic 1: How to Assess Risk.

This topic will provide you with an overview of how to conduct a clinical assessment to determine an individual’s level of risk of developing a pressure ulcer (PU).

By the end of this topic you should be able to:

  • discuss the importance of conducting a clinical assessment
  • discuss the importance of conducting a standardised risk assessment
  • conduct a risk assessment using a standardised tool.

It is expected that this topic will take you approximately 10 minutes to complete.
