Maria's shoulder

"I didn’t want to worry the staff, they’re always so busy and it was getting close to lunch time, so I knew I would be able to move soon. The problem was that I had slipped a bit in my chair and my shoulder was wedged against the arm rest. It was only hurting a bit, and after a little while went a bit numb.

When Katherine came to help me to lunch, she saw I was sitting in a funny way and asked what had happened. It was only 20 minutes or so, but in that time my shoulder had become really red and sore.

It took a long time for me to get feeling back, now I let the staff know straight away if there is a bit of a problem. They told me there could have been a really big problem if I had sat that way for much longer."
